Job Purpose (Significance Of The Role & Objectives)
The Automobile Draftsman is responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and blueprints of automotive parts and systems. The draftsman will work closely with the design team to produce accurate and functional drawings for the manufacturing and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities And Deliverables
- Create detailed technical drawings and blueprints of automotive parts and systems using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- Collaborate with the design team to ensure that drawings accurately reflect the intended design.
- Work with engineers to ensure that the design is functional and can be manufactured effectively.
- Review and approve prototypes to ensure that they are in line with the drawings.
- Maintain accurate records of design specifications and changes.
- Stay current with industry trends and technology advancements to inform the design process.
- Provide support and technical expertise to the manufacturing team during the production process.
Desired Qualifications: Required Qualification, Knowledge, and Experience
- Expert knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as Solidworks, and Unigraphics.
- Strong technical drawing and blueprint creation skills.
- Ability to understand and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce highly accurate drawings.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with engineers, designers, and manufacturers.
- Ability to stay organized and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with automotive design and manufacturing processes.
