Project Description:
Looking for a skilled API Automation QA with strong understanding & hands-on experience on RESTful APIs, JSON & XML payload structures, Postman / Newman (manual + CI runs), HTTP methods & including request/response headers, query params, path params and driving quality across Agile delivery teams.
Responsibilities:
- Postman/Newman skills are essential and preferred
- Design, develop, and maintain robust API automation frameworks using tools such as Playwright (API), Rest Assured, or similar technologies.
- Develop and execute automated test scripts for RESTful APIs.
- Integrate API test suites into CI/CD pipelines.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and negative testing for APIs.
- Analyse test results, log defects, and collaborate with development teams for timely resolution
- Ensure high test coverage, stability, and maintainability of automation frameworks.
- Participate in test planning, reviews, and continuous improvement of QA processes.
Mandatory Skills Description:
- 4+ years of relevant hand-on working experience
- Strong hands-on experience in Java API test automation.
- Proficient in REST Assured with very strong Java-based.
- Strong knowledge of in REST APIs, including request/response headers, query params, path params.
- Hands on experience on Postman / Newman (manual + CI runs).
- Strong understanding of JSON & XML payload structures.
- Good experience in validation of Request/response headers, query params, path params
- Good understanding of HTTP status codes (2xx, 4xx, 5xx) and error handling
- Good understanding of HTTP methods: GET, POST, PUT, PATCH, DELETE
- Experience with any version control systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Nice-to-Have Skills Description:
- Playwright Automation skills will be added advantage.
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.).
- Experience with API performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, k6)
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
