Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Automation Test Engineer with 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance and test automation. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Cypress and Playwright for web application automation and be passionate about delivering high-quality software through scalable automation frameworks and continuous testing practices.

You will work closely with developers, product owners, business analysts, and DevOps teams to ensure robust test coverage, improve product quality, and support CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

Test Automation

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Cypress and Playwright.
  • Create reusable, maintainable, and reliable automated test scripts for web applications.
  • Automate functional, regression, smoke, sanity, and end-to-end test scenarios.
  • Continuously improve test automation coverage and execution efficiency.

Test Planning & Execution

  • Analyze business requirements, user stories, and technical specifications to develop effective test strategies.
  • Prepare detailed test plans, test cases, and automation scripts.
  • Execute automated and manual test cases where required.
  • Validate application functionality across multiple browsers and environments.

Defect Management

  • Identify, document, and track software defects using defect management tools.
  • Perform root cause analysis and work closely with development teams to resolve issues.
  • Verify defect fixes and conduct regression testing.

CI/CD & DevOps Integration

  • Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.
  • Monitor automated test executions and analyze results.
  • Ensure automation is part of continuous integration and continuous delivery processes.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with Product Owners, Developers, Business Analysts, and UX teams throughout the SDLC.
  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Provide quality recommendations during requirement and design discussions.

Reporting & Quality Assurance

  • Generate automation execution reports and quality metrics.
  • Monitor key quality indicators and recommend process improvements.
  • Ensure adherence to QA standards, best practices, and coding guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in Software Testing and Test Automation.
  • Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience with Cypress and/or Playwright.
  • Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Experience in designing and maintaining automation frameworks from scratch.
  • Strong knowledge of web application testing methodologies.
