What would you do
We are looking for an experienced Automation Test Engineer with strong expertise in RAN (Radio Access Network) R&D Automation testing, particularly across LTE and 5G NR technologies. The candidate will be responsible for designing, automating, and executing test cases, analyzing end-to-end call flows, and troubleshooting issues using industry-standard tools via automation.
Responsibility:
- Perform RAN testing for LTE and 5G NR technologies and products in an R&D environment using automated test frameworks.
- Develop, enhance, and maintain Python-based automation scripts for test execution and validation.
- Add new automated test cases, execute them in overnight/net runs, analyze failures, and troubleshooting issues to improve overall test results.
- Optimize test execution time while ensuring maximum test coverage.
- Execute end-to-end (E2E) call flow testing, analyze logs, and troubleshoot failures.
- Collaborate closely with development and system teams to debug issues and validate fixes.
- Use tools such as QXDM, QCAT, and Wireshark for log capture, protocol analysis, and verification.
- Prepare and maintain test plans and test reports, ensuring compliance with defined quality standards.
- Contribute to continuous automation framework enhancements and optimization.
- Leverage AI-driven techniques to optimize automation runs, improve test coverage, and minimize execution time.
Requirements:
- Proven 4-6 years of experience in automation testing, preferably in the telecommunications industry, with a focus on RAN products.
- Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes, including test planning, test case design, test execution, defect management, and test automation.
- Solid understanding of LTE and 5G NR call flows, protocols, and RAN fundamentals.
- Expertise with industry-standard tools such as QXDM, QCAT, and Wireshark.
- Advanced-level proficiency in Python scripting for test automation.
- Hands-on experience in RAN troubleshooting and log analysis.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced R&D environment, with strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Excellent analytical and debugging skills, with the ability to quickly identify, isolate defects, and propose effective solutions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, enabling effective interaction with cross-functional teams.
- Solid understanding of test methodologies and execution, including functional, integration, performance, and scalability testing.
