Job Title: System Engineer Automation

Job Purpose
To design, develop, implement, and maintain automation systems across textile machinery and manufacturing processes. The role focuses extensively on Siemens PLC programming, HMI/SCADA development, and integrating advanced automation solutions to improve machine performance, reliability, and production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
1. PLC Programming & Automation Development
- Develop, test, and commission Siemens PLC programs (Siemens S7-1200/1500, TIA Portal, Step 7).
- Create and modify HMI/SCADA screens (WinCC, WinCC Flexible).
- Troubleshoot, optimize, and upgrade PLC logic to improve machine performance.
- Implement structured programming standards and maintain code documentation.
2. Automation for Textile Machines
- Work on automation of various textile machinery such as spinning, weaving, knitting, dyeing, finishing, or processing machines.
- Integrate sensors, actuators, drives, and motion control solutions for precision control.
- Ensure automation solutions meet textile production quality, speed, and safety standards.
3. System Integration & Testing
- Interface PLCs with peripheral systems such as VFDs, servo drives, motors, and industrial instrumentation.
- Perform FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) and SAT (Site Acceptance Test).
- Coordinate with mechanical & electrical teams for seamless integration of automation systems.
4. Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Provide advanced technical support for breakdowns, logic failures, communication errors, and system malfunctions.
- Ensure minimum downtime through predictive and preventive maintenance techniques.
- Maintain diagnostic tools and perform root cause analysis for repeated issues.
5. Documentation & Compliance
- Prepare technical documentation including wiring diagrams, logic flowcharts, and operating manuals.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (CE, ISO, safety interlocks, etc.).
- Maintain version control and backup of all PLC/HMI programs.
6. Continuous Improvement
- Evaluate existing automation systems and propose upgrades for efficiency and cost reduction.
- Participate in digital transformation initiatives (IoT, data logging, MES integration).
- Train operators and maintenance teams on new automation systems.
Skills & Competencies Required
Technical Skills
- Strong expertise in Siemens PLCs (S7-300/400/1200/1500).
- Proficiency in TIA Portal, Step 7, WinCC HMI/SCADA.
- Experience with industrial communication protocols: Profibus, Profinet, Modbus, Ethernet/IP.
- Knowledge of VFDs, servo systems (Siemens Sinamics preferred).
- Strong understanding of automation in textile machinery.
- Ability to read electrical drawings and P&ID.

Qualifications & Experience
- B.E./B.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or related field.
- 38 years of experience in automation engineering, preferably in textile industry.
- Hands-on experience with Siemens PLC & HMI development is mandatory.
- Experience in commissioning textile machinery automation will be an added advantage.
