Automation Lighting Engineer designs, installs, programs, and commissions smart lighting systems, integrating them with building controls (BMS/IoT) for enhanced efficiency, security, and user experience in residential, commercial, or industrial settings, requiring skills in system design, PLC/protocol programming (KNX, DALI, Zigbee), troubleshooting, and collaboration with architects and clients to meet project goals and technical standards.
Key Responsibilities:Design & Planning: Develop integrated lighting control system designs, create schematics, and perform photometric calculations using software (like AGI32).Programming & Configuration: Configure lighting protocols (DALI, KNX, Zigbee, Z-Wave) and program control systems for desired scenes and automation.Installation & Commissioning: Oversee physical installation, ensuring seamless integration with other building systems (HVAC, security) and commissioning systems on-site.Testing & Troubleshooting: Automate testing (dimming, flicker), diagnose complex issues, and resolve failures in communication or scripts.Client & Stakeholder Management: Act as a liaison with clients, architects, and contractors, understanding requirements and ensuring satisfaction.Documentation: Create technical documents, system architecture, and user manuals.Maintenance: Provide technical support and perform fault-finding on electrical/lighting equipment. Essential Skills:Expertise in lighting control systems (Lutron, KNX, DALI, etc.).Knowledge of IoT, Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi protocols.Proficiency in automation software, design tools (AutoCAD), and potentially PLC programming.Strong electrical knowledge and troubleshooting skills.Excellent communication and project coordination abilities.
