Job Title: Automation Lead / Engineer with Experience of defence Quality Assurance Procedures

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Automation Lead/Engineer to execute automation and control system projects for defence and naval applications. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in defence quality assurance procedures, environmental qualification, electrical control panel engineering, system integration, installation, testing, and customer coordination. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Automation & Control Systems
  • Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM), engineering Drawings, Documents, and project deliverables.
  • Support electrical control panel engineering and system integration.
  • Review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and interface documents.
  • Assist in commissioning and troubleshooting of automation systems at customer sites.

Naval Quality Assurance & Compliance

Ensure compliance with defence and naval quality assurance procedures and project documentation requirements.

Coordinate and support Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) activities.

Ensure implementation of Environmental Qualification Test requirements wherever applicable.

Support design review and qualification activities to meet customer and regulatory standards.

EMI / EMC Compliance

Support the design and implementation of EMI-shielded control panels.

Coordinate EMI/EMC qualification testing with accredited laboratories.

Ensure proper grounding, shielding, cable routing, bonding, and filtering practices during design and installation.

Review and maintain EMI/EMC compliance documentation.

Installation, Testing & Commissioning

  • Lead installation, integration, testing, and commissioning activities at customer locations.
  • Prepare and execute:
  • Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP)
  • Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)
  • Site Acceptance Tests (SAT)
  • Integrated System Testing
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues during installation and commissioning.
  • Support customer acceptance and project handover activities.

Inspection & Customer Coordination

Coordinate with customers for technical discussions, design reviews, and project execution.

Assist during inspections conducted by defence quality assurance agencies, third-party inspection bodies, and customer representatives.

Ensure timely closure of inspection observations and documentation requirements.

Prepare technical reports, compliance documents, inspection records, and project status updates.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related discipline.

3–6 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Experience

Experience working on Indian Navy, DRDO, DPSU, or other defence projects.

Familiarity with defence quality assurance processes and documentation.

Knowledge of applicable standards such as JSS standards, IEC 60068, and IEC 61000 series.

Experience coordinating with defence quality assurance agencies and accredited testing laboratories.
