Job Description – Automation Architect (Quality Engineering)
Location: Mumbai / Navi Mumbai (Open to travel)

Role Overview
We are looking for a seasoned Automation Architect to lead enterprise-wide automation strategy and drive large-scale quality engineering transformation. This role requires deep expertise across multiple automation paradigms, without dependency on any specific toolset, and the ability to architect scalable, future-ready automation ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities
Automation Strategy & Architecture
- Define and drive enterprise automation strategy aligned to business and delivery goals
- Architect scalable, reusable frameworks across UI, API, Microservices, Data, and Integration layers
- Establish organization-wide automation standards, governance, and best practices
Framework Engineering & Tooling
- Design and implement automation solutions using modern and legacy toolsets across ecosystems
- Ensure tool-agnostic architecture, enabling flexibility (open-source or commercial tools)
- Drive framework reusability, maintainability, and performance optimization
QE Transformation
- Lead transition from QA to Quality Engineering (QE) with strong focus on automation-first delivery
- Define automation ROI metrics, coverage benchmarks, and maturity models
- Enable shift-left, shift-right, and continuous testing practices
CI/CD & DevOps Integration
- Integrate automation frameworks into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub, etc.)
- Ensure seamless automation execution in Agile and DevOps environments
Stakeholder & Program Management
- Collaborate with business, product, architecture, and delivery stakeholders
- Provide solutioning inputs for large transformation deals and client engagements
- Drive technical governance and reporting at program level
Team Capability Building
- Mentor automation leads and engineers across programs
- Conduct framework reviews, code audits, and technical coaching
- Build competency in emerging automation trends and tools
Mandatory Skill Set
- 10+ years in QA/QE with 4+ years in Automation Architecture roles
- Strong expertise across multiple automation areas:
- UI Automation (any modern tools – e.g., Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, WebDriver-based or equivalent)
- API Automation (any frameworks/tools – REST, SOAP automation suites)
- Test Framework Design (BDD, Hybrid, Data-driven, modular frameworks)
- Strong programming background in any one or more: Java / Python / JavaScript
- Hands-on experience in:
- CI/CD and DevOps integration
- Agile delivery models
- Test data management and environment strategy
- Solid understanding of:
- Microservices and API ecosystems
- Cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP)
Good to Have
- Exposure to commercial automation tools (e.g., Tosca or similar platforms)
- Experience with AI/ML-led testing, self-healing frameworks, or GenAI use cases
- Knowledge of performance testing and engineering practices
- Domain exposure in Banking / Financial Services / Telecom / Retail
