AutoCAD Drafter (or Draftsman) uses Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to translate the conceptual ideas, rough sketches, and specifications of engineers and architects into precise, detailed technical drawings and blueprints. These plans are essential for guiding manufacturing and construction processes.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Drafting: Create accurate 2D and 3D drawings, including plans, elevations, cross-sections, and details using AutoCAD software.Collaboration: Attend design meetings and work directly with engineers, architects, and project managers to understand design objectives and structural/material requirements.Revisions & Updates: Review blueprints, revise existing drawings, and incorporate modifications based on stakeholder feedback or field site updates.Compliance & Standards: Ensure all designs and drafted layouts adhere to local safety regulations, industry standards, and project specifications.Documentation: Prepare material lists, bills of materials (BOM), cost estimates, and maintain an organized, up-to-date filing system for all project drawings.Essential Skills & QualificationsSoftware Proficiency: Advanced working knowledge of AutoCAD; familiarity with related programs like Revit, SolidWorks, or Navisworks is a distinct advantage.Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of architectural or mechanical drafting principles, engineering standards, and construction procedures.Attention to Detail: High precision and analytical skills to ensure measurements, dimensions, and specifications are completely flawless.Math Skills: Advanced mathematical capabilities for performing calculations regarding estimated dimensions, scales, and geometric ratios.Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to coordinate across cross-functional teams and report daily project progress
