Job Description

AutoCAD Designer (ICT)

Location: Kolkata

Department: ICT / ELV / Network Infrastructure

Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced AutoCAD Designer – ICT to support the design and documentation of ICT infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of both Active and Passive Networking Systems and be capable of preparing accurate drawings, layouts and technical documentation for Data Centre, Enterprise and Commercial ICT projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and modify AutoCAD drawings for ICT, structured cabling and network infrastructure projects.

• Develop floor plans, cable routing layouts, rack layouts, equipment layouts and network drawings.

• Prepare drawings for both Active and Passive Network Infrastructure.

• Create and update Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), schematic diagrams, rack elevations and connectivity diagrams.

• Prepare layouts for copper and fibre optic cabling.

• Develop drawings for racks, cabinets, patch panels, LIUs, ODFs, switches, routers, wireless access points and other ICT equipment.

• Prepare cable tray, containment, pathway and routing drawings.

• Prepare detailed rack elevations and rack equipment placement drawings.

• Update drawings based on site conditions, design changes and customer requirements.

• Prepare As-Built drawings, Redline drawings and project handover documentation.

• Coordinate with project engineers, network engineers, passive engineers, OEMs and site teams.

• Review BOQs, technical specifications and design inputs before preparing drawings.

• Assist with quantity take-offs and preparation of BOQs based on drawings.

• Ensure drawings comply with project standards, customer requirements and applicable ICT design practices.

• Maintain proper drawing revisions, numbering and document control.

• Support site surveys and incorporate actual site conditions into drawings.

• Single Mode and Multimode Fibre

• Network racks and cabinets

• Cable trays, fibre runners and cable containment

• Copper and fibre cable routing

Required Skills:

• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D.

• Ability to prepare detailed and accurate ICT drawings.

• Good understanding of Active and Passive Network Infrastructure.

• Ability to read architectural, electrical and MEP drawings.

• Ability to understand BOQs, technical specifications and network designs.

• Experience preparing rack elevations, cable routing drawings and network layouts.

• Good understanding of drawing standards, layers, blocks, annotations and dimensions.

• Strong attention to detail and drawing accuracy.

• Good coordination and communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple drawings and revisions simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Diploma / Degree in Engineering, Draftsmanship or a related technical field.

• Previous experience in ICT, ELV, Data Centre or Structured Cabling projects preferred.

• Experience working on large commercial, enterprise or Data Centre projects will be an advantage.

• Knowledge of Revit / BIM will be an added advantage.

• Familiarity with OEM products from CommScope, Panduit, Cisco, Juniper, Dell, HPE or similar ICT OEMs will be beneficial.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate should be technically strong in AutoCAD and have a practical understanding of how ICT networks are designed and implemented.

The candidate should be able to translate technical inputs, BOQs and site requirements into clear, accurate and implementation-ready drawings while coordinating effectively with both design and execution teams.
