AutoCAD Draftsman (or Drafter) translates conceptual designs, hand sketches, and verbal instructions from engineers and architects into precise, detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings. They play a crucial role in construction and manufacturing by preparing accurate blueprints used to build everything from buildings to machine parts.Key ResponsibilitiesDrafting & Design: Utilize AutoCAD to create detailed 2D layouts, plans, elevations, and 3D models.Translation: Convert conceptual sketches and field measurements into highly accurate, standardized technical drawings.Collaboration: Work alongside project managers, structural/mechanical engineers, and architects to understand specifications and design objectives.Revisions: Incorporate design changes, modifications, and feedback from the engineering team into existing blueprints.Quality Control: Review drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and strict adherence to industry standards, building codes, and safety regulations.Documentation: Prepare bills of materials (BOM), cost estimates, and maintain organized databases of standard drawing templates and project files.Essential Skills & RequirementsTechnical Proficiency: High-level expertise in Autodesk AutoCAD (2D and 3D); experience with software like SolidWorks or Revit is often a plus.Mathematical & Analytical Skills: Strong aptitude for geometry, trigonometry, and calculating dimensions or material needs.Attention to Detail: Meticulous eye for accuracy in measurements, scaling, and labeling.Qualifications: Typically requires a diploma, associate's degree, or certification in drafting, engineering design, or architecture
