Job Description

Talent Formula is a consulting firm that offers outsourced financial and accounting Human Resources to Chartered Accounting firms worldwide. We have been asked to source staff on behalf of our client. We currently have a Bookkeeper position available in the team.

They are looking for a dynamic and bright Senior Bookkeeper with 2+ years of AUS experience to immediately join their team.

Skills, Attributes And Competencies Required

  • Qualified or Semi Qualified CA/ Relevant bachelor's degree in commerce (with strong Australian Bookkeeping experience)
  • Have at least 2+ years of bookkeeping experience in a public practice accounting firm or any big firm post articles.
  • 2+ years of Australian bookkeeping experience is a must.
  • Proficient in Xero is ideal. Exposure to MYOB and Reckon is preferred.
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Knowledge of payroll regulations.
  • Knowledge of GST matters.
  • Clear communication.
  • Attention to detail concerning descriptions in accounting files, BAS work papers, payroll processes and month-end work papers.
  • Ability to identify issues or errors in accounting files and communicate these to managers.
  • Basic fixed asset knowledge including disposal of assets.
  • Efficient and timely in processing work.
  • Working knowledge of Spotlight Reporting software is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities Will Include (but Are Not Limited To)

  • Take up invoices and bills in the accounting system.
  • Maintain trade debtors and trade creditor's function.
  • Reconcile bank accounts in the accounting system.
  • Set up new employees in the accounting system.
  • Process payroll including STP, leave transactions, reimbursements, and superannuation payments.
  • Preparation of BAS and IAS.
  • Preparation of Management Accounts.
  • Creation and reconciliation of intercompany invoices.
  • Preparation of month-end journals including leave provision, prepayments, and intercompany commissions.
  • Lodgment of payroll tax and Workcover rateables remuneration.
  • Maintain fixed asset register and process depreciation.
  • Liaising with accountants on queries and related matters.
