Job Description

Summary:

The Audit Manager US Manufacturing will lead and manage U.S. manufacturing audit engagements under a hybrid service delivery model. This role requires strong technical expertise in US GAAP, US GAAS, and PCAOB standards with deep exposure to manufacturing-specific accounting, processes, and risks. The Manager will be responsible for engagement execution, client communication, team leadership, quality reviews, and delivery within timelines and budgets, while closely coordinating with onshore US engagement teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end audit execution for US manufacturing clients, including planning, risk assessment, execution, review, and reporting.
  • Apply strong technical knowledge of US GAAP, US GAAS, and PCAOB standards with specific focus on manufacturing accounting areas such as:
  1. Inventory valuation (standard costing, overhead absorption, variances, NRV)
  2. Revenue recognition for manufacturing contracts and supply arrangements
  3. Cost accounting, bill of materials (BOM), and work-in-process (WIP)
  4. Fixed assets, depreciation, and capitalization of production equipment

  • Lease accounting (ASC 842) and impairment considerations
  • Review audit workpapers to ensure compliance with auditing standards and firm methodology.
  • Identify and assess key manufacturing risks including inventory existence, obsolescence, production
  • cut-off, standard cost, accuracy, and supply-chain related risks.
  • Maintain proactive communication with US onshore teams and client stakeholders to manage expectations, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Lead client status calls, handle escalations, and ensure timely resolution of audit issues.
  • Act as a trusted advisor by providing insights on process improvements, internal controls, and operational efficiencies relevant to manufacturing environments.
  • Manage multiple audit engagements simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Supervise, review, and guide the work of Senior Associates and Associates, ensuring audit documentation meets firm and regulatory quality standards.
  • Manage and mentor large teams, including performance management, coaching, and career development discussions.
  • Provide on-the-job training and conduct technical sessions focused on US manufacturing audit concepts and emerging accounting standards.

Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in US GAAP, US GAAS, and PCAOB standards.
  • Hands-on experience auditing US manufacturing companies.
  • In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes, cost accounting systems, inventory cycles, and internal controls.
  • Excellent project management, people management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience interacting with US clients and onshore teams.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Team management: Manage a team of around 15 members.

Education / Professional Experience/ Qualifications:

  • CA/CPA qualified
  • Minimum 7-9 years of progressive audit experience in a medium-to-large public accounting firm or equivalent
  • Big 4 experience a plus
