Job Summary:
The AV Support Engineer is responsible for the setup, Projects, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Audio-Visual systems across meeting rooms, conference spaces, boardrooms, and event areas. The role requires hands-on technical expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to coordinate with internal teams and vendors to ensure seamless AV operations.
Key Responsibilities (Applicable Across All Experience Levels):
- Provide day-to-day support for AV systems, including video conferencing, projectors, microphones, displays, speakers, control systems, and scheduling panels.
- Operate and support Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, and other conferencing platforms.
- Perform routine health checks and preventative maintenance of AV infrastructure.
- Support live events, town halls, and hybrid meetings ensuring high-quality AV delivery.
- Maintain inventory of AV equipment and coordinate repairs/replacements with vendors.
- Escalate and follow up on issues with OEMs or service providers.
- Log incidents, requests, and resolutions in the IT service management platform.
- Support AV integrations with meeting room booking systems and digital signage.
Experience-Based Expectations:
14 Years (Junior AV Support Engineer):
- Basic understanding of AV components (displays, projectors, HDMI extenders, etc.).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Teams Rooms or Zoom Room setup and operation.
- Hands-on experience supporting day-to-day AV needs in meeting rooms.
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures and escalate issues appropriately.
- Eagerness to learn AV standards and build technical expertise.
- Good communication and customer-facing skills.
48 Years (Mid-Level AV Support Engineer):
- Strong knowledge of AV infrastructure and control systems (e.g., Crestron, Extron, AMX).
- Experience with AV over IP solutions and structured cabling.
- Proficiency in supporting events, including multi-room setups and live streaming.
- Ability to troubleshoot audio, video, and network-related AV issues independently.
- Coordination with facility, IT, and vendor teams for AV installations and upgrades.
- Capability to train and mentor junior AV staff.
8+ Years (Senior AV Support Engineer):
- Deep understanding of AV system architecture and integration.
- Experience in AV project planning, deployment, and vendor management.
- Ability to manage large-scale AV infrastructure including digital signage, control systems, and centralised monitoring.
- Strong experience supporting executive-level meetings and global broadcasts.
- Develop and implement SOPs, process improvements, and documentation.
- Lead AV-related initiatives, provide input for budgeting and lifecycle planning.
