About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineer to join our IoT Audio Technologies team at Qualcomm. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and optimizing audio DSP frameworks, algorithms, and codecs for embedded systems. Your work will directly contribute to the enhancement of audio quality and performance across a variety of IoT devices. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate customer requirements into innovative solutions, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field, with proven experience in software development for embedded systems. Strong proficiency in C and C++ programming is essential, along with a solid understanding of signal processing fundamentals, audio algorithms, codecs, and DSP architecture. Experience working with Linux and RTOS platforms is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate a passion for innovation, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment. A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience or academic exposure to programming languages such as Java or Python is required.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize audio DSP frameworks, algorithms, and codecs to meet product specifications and customer requirements.
- Design, implement, and test audio DSP software modules for embedded systems, ensuring high performance and reliability.
- Decompose customer requirements and translate them into technical solutions, providing ongoing support and troubleshooting.
- Contribute to the development of new audio algorithms and frameworks to enhance product capabilities.
- Work with RTOS environments, ensuring seamless integration and operation of audio components.
- Establish processes and best practices to ensure high-quality software development, including code reviews, testing, and documentation.
- Make informed technical decisions and tradeoffs based on data analysis and project constraints.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams such as hardware, firmware, and product management to ensure project success.
- Continuously improve software quality and performance, raising the bar for team deliverables.
- Define project objectives and guide the team towards achieving milestones and deliverables.
- Lead efforts to ship solutions on time, ensuring adherence to quality standards and customer expectations.
