Job description:

Position Summary

• End-to-end technical review of AU tax compliance work - ensuring accuracy and quality before work is returned to offices for commercial review
• Not a client-facing role, however this person will engage directly with internal office stakeholders, so professional communication and confidence are important
• Operates autonomously and independently
• May support training and development of offshore team members

Important on calibre: While the title is Tax Manager, we want to be clear that we're looking for someone genuinely senior in capability - this person needs to be able to hold the technical standard independently and engage credibly with onshore managers.

Qualifications and requirements:

Education Requirements:

• Essential
• Business/Commerce degree with Accounting Major
• Completed CPA or equivalent

Demonstrated Experience & Attirbutes:

• Essential
• 6+ years experience in Professional Services
• Strong Communication Skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
• Committed to continuing professional development
• Can do leg work as tax accountant
• Desirable
• Previous experience managing a team

Non-negotiable skills and requirements:

• Experience in multiple Industries is a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or any relevant field
• High attention to detail and Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Good organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
• Attention to detail, time management, and accounting administration skills
• Relevant qualifications in Accounting and/or Finance (CPA/CA qualified or willingness to study CPA/CA) preferred.
• At least 5-10 years of experience in Australian Tax and Accounting Services (Public Practice w/ Accounting Firms)
• 3-5 years experience in managing an accounting team is desirable
• Experience in various tax and accounting standards (e.g. US/UK/AU)
• Working knowledge on MS Office and accounting softwares such as - Xero, Quickbooks, Oracle Netsuite, SAP, MYOB and others
