Join a multidisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and mathematicians developing catastrophe models for the insurance and reinsurance industries. At Verisk, we are leading the way in generating new solutions based on machine learning and high-resolution numerical weather models to simulate the full distribution of possible extreme weather eventscyclones, storm surge, convective storms, and flooding consistent with a changing climate.
We are seeking a statistician or atmospheric scientist to advance the development, support, and delivery of the hazard component of atmospheric peril models. Your work will inform risk and capital management decisions globally.

- Improve the accuracy of representing atmospheric perils
- Contribute to model development, validation, and productization for global clients
- Support model development using observational and reanalysis products, GCMs, and high-resolution simulations
Qualifications

- Expertise in spatial statistics and extreme value analysis
- Strong understanding of atmospheric dynamics and extremes
- Experience with dynamic downscaling methods
- Proficiency in Python

Requirements
- Ph.D. in statistics, atmospheric science, or a related field; or Master's with 3+ years of relevant experience
