Roles and Responsibilities
Teaching and Curriculum Planning
- Teaching Program Planning: Plan the teaching program, including an orientation program, in consultation with the Principal/Vice Principal.
- Practical Experience & Assignments: Plan for students practical experience, ward assignments, and vacations in consultation with the Principal/Vice Principal.
- Ward Teaching: Plan the ward teaching program with the cooperation and collaboration of the Principal/Vice Principal.
- Class Preparation: Prepare for classes and demonstrations, and display educational material on notice boards.
- Subject Instruction: Teach all nursing subjects with assistance from other staff members.
- Student Guidance: Guide students in methods of study and use of reference books and the library, providing individual attention when necessary, including individual assignments.
- Assessments: Conduct periodical and terminal tests.
- Educational Events: Organize seminars, panel discussions, debates, and similar events.
- Examination Readiness: Ensure that students who go for examinations fulfill all requirements.
- Clinical Supervision: Conduct regular visits to hospital wards, departments, and other practice fields.
Student Records Management
You will be responsible for maintaining the following student records:
- Attendance Register: Register of attendance at classes, demonstrations, visits, etc.
- Practical Experience Record: Record of practical experience.
- Assessment Marks: Marks of terminal tests and examinations.
- Leave Account: Leave account of students.
- Classes Given: Records of classes given by nursing, medical, and other teachers.
- Health Records: Health Records.
- Permanent/Cumulative Record: Permanent/cumulative record of students.
College Document Management
You will control and manage the following categories of documents:
- Recognition Certificate: Recognition certificate issued by the Indian Nursing Council.
- Organizational Chart: Organizational chart of the College.
- Seat Matrix: Seat Matrix of students as per Central Government Norms.
Student Health and Well-being
- Health Examinations: Arrange for initial and periodical health examinations and maintain health records.
- Hygiene Monitoring: Conduct periodical visits to student rooms to ensure they practice personal hygiene.
- Recreational Programs: Organize recreational and social programs.
General Duties
- Student Selection: Participate in the selection of students.
- Timetable Management: Supply time tables of classes to Ward Sisters.
- Library Maintenance: Maintain the library, and requisition new books and journals.
- Inventory Management:
- Inventory of classroom supplies.
- Inventory of classroom equipment.
- Event Arrangements: Arrange functions for prize distribution, lamp-lighting ceremony.
- Other Duties: Perform any other duty that may be assigned to you from time to time relating to nursing education
