  • Oversee the end-to-end quality assurance processes for Medical Record Retrieval (MRR) and Release of Information (ROI) within the RCM lifecycle.

  • Monitor compliance with federal and state regulations including HIPAA, HITECH, and payer-specific guidelines.

  • Develop and implement QA standards and SOPs specific to MRR and ROI processes.

  • Conduct audits, quality checks, and root cause analyses on records processed to identify and resolve documentation issues.

  • Collaborate with MRR, HIM, coding, and RCM teams to improve data integrity and claims accuracy.

  • Identify trends in documentation errors, delays, or payer denials and lead corrective action plans.

  • Provide training and continuous education to staff on best practices in MRR & ROI processes and regulatory requirements.

  • Ensure SLAs (turnaround time, quality, compliance) are met consistently for record retrieval and release.

  • Support client audits, payer audits, and internal quality assessments.

  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as error rates, TAT (turnaround time), compliance scores, and client satisfaction.

Job Requirements

  • Any graduate with minimum 8-10 years of experience in MRR / ROI operations / quality, HIM, or RCM in a healthcare setting.

  • At least 2-3 years of experience in a quality management / supervisory role.

  • Experience in handling a team of QA's, TLs & Ams with a span size of at least 100.

  • Knowledge of HIPAA, state release of information laws, and healthcare documentation standards.

  • Experience with ROI software and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, or similar).

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple audits simultaneously.

  • Certification in RHIT, RHIA, or CHPS is a plus.
