Network Operations & Support - Proxy Network Engineer

Experience: 6-8 Years

Location: Chennai/Bangalore

Role Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Proxy Network Engineer with handson experience in proxy technologies and secure internet access solutions. The ideal candidate will have practical exposure to Squid Proxy, sProxy, and Zscaler ZIA, along with a solid understanding of Linux environments. This role focuses on operating, supporting, and troubleshooting enterprise proxy and web security services.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and support proxy solutions in enterprise environments
Manage and troubleshoot Squid Proxy deployments for outbound traffic control
Work with sProxy for proxybased access and traffic management
Support and administer Zscaler ZIA policies and integrations
Monitor proxy traffic, logs, and performance to ensure secure and reliable access
Troubleshoot internet access, authentication, and policyrelated issues
Work closely with network and security teams to implement proxy controls
Perform incident analysis and provide timely resolution
Document configurations, procedures, and operational runbooks

Required Skills & Experience:

24 years of handson experience as a Proxy / Network Engineer
Strong experience with Squid Proxy (MUST)
Handson experience with sProxy
Experience supporting Zscaler ZIA
Good working knowledge of Linux (installation, logs, services, basic troubleshooting)
Understanding of proxy concepts, web filtering, and outbound traffic control
Experience working in operational / support environments

Preferred Skills:

Exposure to network security concepts and secure web gateways
Experience with authentication methods (LDAP, AD integration)
Familiarity with troubleshooting network connectivity and performance issues
Experience working in enterprise or largescale environments

Other Qualification and requirement:

Any degree or relevant education is must. This role requires working at customer locations based on business needs.
