Asst.Manager PLC Design
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and technically strong PLC Design Architect - Industrial Automation to lead the architecture, design, development, and implementation of PLC-based automation systems for industrial automation, warehouse automation, material handling, and smart manufacturing projects.
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in PLC programming, control system architecture, industrial communication networks, SCADA/HMI integration, and automation system commissioning. The role requires leading multidisciplinary automation projects and delivering reliable, scalable, and high-performance control solutions.
Key Responsibilities
PLC & Control System Architecture
- Lead PLC system architecture and control strategy development for:
- Conveyor systems
- ASRS (Automated Storage & Retrieval Systems)
- Robotics integration
- Sortation systems
- Warehouse automation systems
- Manufacturing automation lines
- Material handling systems
- Design modular, scalable, and maintainable PLC control architectures.
- Develop control philosophies, functional design specifications (FDS), IO architecture, and sequence logic.
- Define system interfaces between PLCs, SCADA, HMI, drives, sensors, robotics, WCS/WMS, and third-party equipment.
PLC Programming & Automation Development
- Develop and review PLC programs, HMI applications, and SCADA integration.
- Configure and integrate:
- Servo systems
- VFDs
- Safety PLCs
- Industrial instrumentation
- Barcode/RFID systems
- Ensure proper implementation of alarms, diagnostics, interlocks, and fail-safe logic.
- Support simulation, testing, debugging, and optimization of automation systems.
Industrial Networking & System Integration
- Design and manage industrial communication networks using:
- Profinet
- Ethernet/IP
- Modbus TCP/IP
- OPC UA
- Profibus
- Coordinate integration with MES, ERP, WMS, and WCS platforms.
- Ensure cybersecurity and reliability of industrial automation systems.
Technical Leadership
- Lead and mentor PLC programmers and automation engineers.
- Conduct code reviews, technical audits, and automation design reviews.
- Establish programming standards, reusable libraries, and best practices.
- Support troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of complex automation issues.
- Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, software, and commissioning teams.
Project Execution Support
- Support technical proposals, estimation, and project planning activities.
- Participate in FAT (Factory Acceptance Test), SAT (Site Acceptance Test), and commissioning activities.
- Provide onsite technical support during installation and startup.
- Ensure timely completion of project deliverables within budget and schedule.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Drive automation standardization and digital transformation initiatives.
- Evaluate emerging technologies in:
- Industry 4.0
- Smart manufacturing
- Industrial IoT
- AI-based automation
- Improve automation system performance, reliability, and maintainability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related field.
- Master's Degree is preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in PLC programming and industrial automation system design.
- Proven experience leading automation and controls projects.

- Knowledge of IEC, ISO, CE, OSHA, and machine safety standards.
- PMP or automation certifications are an advantage.
Working Conditions
- Office and project-site based work environment.
- Domestic and international travel may be required.
- May require extended support during commissioning and go-live activities.
