Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Assistant Manager - Business Development located in Pune/Mumbai. The Assistant Manager will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, maintaining client relationships, analyzing market trends, and creating strategic business plans. The role necessitates collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance organizational growth and meet sales targets while ensuring customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Educational Qualification: BE Electrical / Electronic Engineering  
  • Experience: 8 to 12 years in Factory Automation / Safety Products for sales, application & business development 
  • Industry Type: Factory Automation, Industrial Automation, Sensors, Safety sensors, Controls and Automation Products.  (Working in MNC/Direct Company preferred.) 
  • Strong business development, sales, and client relationship management skills
  • Proficiency in market analysis, strategic planning, and identifying new opportunities
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and independently manage projects
  • Experience with CRM tools and proficiency in using MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Good understanding of the industrial automation or safety solutions market is preferred
  • Willingness to travel as required for business meetings and client engagements

Purpose of the Job 

  • Job profile as a business development with certain defined End-user  
  • Regular promotion activities, technical presentation/seminars/workshop 
  • Technical support to sales to make complete proposal and technical clarification to cmrs 
  • Support & encourage sales team for Solution sales & services prospect to achieve assigned Goal & profitable growth. 
  • Support to marketing for promotional activities and Brand Building 
  • Long term Business planning, reporting, analysis, strategic approach & decision taking ability 
  • Business development activities with customers for product, solution, services & vendor approval. 
  • Project costing & negotiation, skill to handle top to bottom approach. 
  • To manage Presentations, seminar & workshop with customers. 
  • To achieve assigned Goal from assigned End-user  
  • Approval of complete solution & service with assigned cmrs with specification in ther supplier list 
  • Update of projects, end cmr machine builder to sales 

 

Major Activities / Principal Accountabilities  

  • Assigned certain key end-user related to industry vertical (Paint, Heavy Industry like Cement, Metal & Steel, Mining) can be part of his responsibility. 
  • To promote entire man & machine safety solution & safety services (for Bulk Material handing & Paint Mfrs) to assigned customers within India. 
  • Business development activities for enrolment of specification, presentations, lead generation, Schmersal enrollment in their approved vendor list for all our product range to generate business with end-customer OEMs, generating project information, their vendor list to inform to sales to work with their vendor to generate sales from their vendor and monitoring. 
  • Support to sales to get approval for our product related to end-user project to get business from their vendor. 
  • Support to marketing to manage required marketing activities, new product development, machine safety services & guarding, require vendor development by interacting with related department 
  • To work closely with marketing to bring new marketing ideas and development of new things to do various marketing activities. 
  • Support to sales to provide required pre & post-sales support by coordinating with concern team at HQ. 
  • To work closely with all assigned end-user India, headquarter, safety heads & their senior management with top to bottom approach to manage various approval, to sign ARC and update of projects, future planning as well as any other relevant information for us. 
  • To select the safety product & solution suitable for customer requirement & application to provide to sales to make proposal. 
  • To understand the customer requirements and provide the solution and support sales to close the order.

Knowledge 

  • Basic knowledge of Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Factory Automation (Know about our related machinery safety product & automation can be added value as a preferred candidate). 
  • Knowledge of different Industrial communication buses, protocol, IOT/Ind4.0 
  • Selling technique to sell complete Integrated solution along with products (IOT/Ind 4.0 solution as an added value) 
  • Experience of working with team as well as managing the work with team in cross working environment.  
  • Having good contacts/customer database and relations with related customers. 
  • Working experience of managing direct sales & business development as well as with channel.  
  • Technically sound with good level of understanding for faster improvement. 
  • Promotional Activities for machinery safety. 
  • Good Presentation and Negotiation skills. 
  • Competitor Knowledge with their strength & Weakness. 
  • CRM & SAP knowledge preferable. 
  • Proficiency in MS Office. 
  • Machinery Safety norms & Standard can be added value.
