Job Description


  • Assist the Head Cake Master in planning and creating custom cakes, pastries, and other baked goods.
  • Prepare and mix ingredients for cakes, fillings, icings, and other baked items according to recipes and quality standards.
  • Decorate cakes and pastries using various techniques, including piping, molding, and fondant work.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all equipment is properly sanitized and stored.
  • Assist in the development of new recipes and cake designs.
  • Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and appearance of all baked goods.
  • Collaborate with the bakery team to meet production schedules and customer deadlines.
  • Manage inventory and order supplies as needed.
  • Provide excellent customer service, including taking orders and providing recommendations.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and techniques in cake decoration and baking.


    Requirements

    High school diploma or equivalent; formal training in baking and pastry arts is a plus.

    Proven experience as a cake decorator or similar role in a bakery.

    Strong artistic skills with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.

    Proficiency in various cake decorating techniques, including piping, fondant work, and molding.

    Knowledge of baking and pastry techniques, including ingredient properties and measurements.

    Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain consistency in product quality.

    Excellent time management and organizational skills.

    Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

    Strong communication and teamwork skills.

    Customer-oriented with a friendly and professional demeanor.

    Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy baking equipment.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in baking and pastry arts from a recognized institution.
  • Experience with advanced cake decorating techniques, such as sugar art or airbrushing.
  • Familiarity with food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Creativity and innovation in cake design and recipe development.
