Asssistant Manager- Purchase

Role Purpose

1. Knowledge of Sourcing and It's strategies, import process, localization, supplier and Audits, ERP (Oracles), BIS Standard & Star Rated Energy Efficient Products Knowledge.
2. Responsible for maintaining efficient procurement lines and deliver order within defined timeline while interfacing with engineering functions to coordinate the release of new products or/and product improvements. Ensure implementing cost reduction techniques, facilitating on-time payments and periodic reporting to the management.

Roles & Responsibilities

-Procurement of BOM/CAPEX/MRO items

-Search and arrange offers from minimum 2-3 suppliers; study and analyze the quotations of imported spares,consumables and expense class items for all locations

-Search and arrange offers from minimum 2-3 suppliers, study and analyze the quotations of domestic spares, consumables and expense class items for Bawal plant

-Place orders on time based on supplier lead time to aid in a smooth flowing manufacturing process

-Facilitate regular follow ups to ensure timely delivery to plants to avoid shortages at any point of time

-Arrange Advance/COD on time and follow up with the transporters

-Reduce the cost of spares and consumables by negotiations/ arranging alternatives based on monthly buying pattern to facilitate decrease in the cost of production

-Analyze high value items where localization is possible to aid in reduction in overall cost of buying

-Facilitate development of alternate products based on value contribution in budget

-Arrange complete documents for each domestic and imported shipment along with materials to maintain proper records

-Maintain and consolidate data for all shipments coming on ex-works/FOB terms every month and provide it to the insurance department

-Adhere to TQM system practices

-X matrix & defined action plans

-Conduct periodical reviews with senior on all KPI's, both - weekly and monthly, as per defined target

-Maintain company's cash flow and explore the enhancement of payment terms with old suppliers to ensure best efforts and meet the defined targets

-Procure energy efficient equipment/items only on the basis of equipment lifecycle & energy efficiency to attain an optimized and energy efficient manufacturing unit

-Monitor supplier payments on monthly basis and coordinate with accounts team on daily basis

Role Requirement

-6-9 years of total experience

-B.Tech./B.E.- Mechanical (must have)

-Manufacturing industry background
