Job Description

As an Associate in US Payroll Ops, you will be responsible for overseeing and improving end-to-end U.S. payroll processes.

Job Responsibilities

  • Process Engineering & Continuous Improvement
    • Perform end-to-end assessments of the U.S. payroll lifecycle to identify bottlenecks, risks, and inefficiencies. Redesign workflows to reduce manual inputs, improve accuracy, and accelerate processing timelines.
  • System Integration & Automation
    • Support and document automation projects leveraging Oracle HCM Payroll, Alteryx, and PEGA. Contribute to automation of repetitive activities (e.g., validation and reconciliation), including the use of RPA where applicable.
  • Controls, Compliance & Risk Mitigation
    • Support robust control frameworks to ensure payroll compliance and audit readiness. Ensure processes align with federal and state regulations (including FLSA, tax withholding requirements, and relevant labor laws).
    • Standardize and support SOX controls, documentation, and internal audit protocols to reduce operational and financial risk.

  • Execution & Stakeholder Partnership
    • Partner closely with Payroll Operations, HR, Finance, and IT to drive alignment, integration, and delivery of outcomes. Communicate progress, risks, and dependencies effectively to stakeholders.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in payroll management or similar roles, including at least 2 years supporting process improvement or transformation initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle HCM Payroll or comparable payroll platforms.
  • Demonstrated control mindset and experience supporting payroll compliance frameworks and audit readiness.
  • High attention to detail with a strong commitment to data accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Experience supporting payroll optimization/transformation in a large, complex organization.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience driving automation and process improvement using Alteryx and PEGA.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with executive compensation and related payroll input processes.
  • Deep knowledge of payroll regulations and end-to-end payroll processes, including optimization/enhancement initiatives.
  • Strong risk management, issue resolution, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience partnering with offshore teams and third-party vendors.
  • Experience supporting year-end/year-begin payroll transformation, optimization, or automation initiatives.
