About the Role
Phenom is looking for an Associate Technical Program Manager to join our Big Bets team a high-visibility group driving company-level strategic initiatives at the intersection of Engineering, Product, and Business.
This role is designed for individuals who have built a strong technical foundation through hands-on software engineering experience and have subsequently pursued a premium MBA. It offers an opportunity to transition into Technical Program Management while working on large-scale, cross-functional engineering initiatives.
What You'll Do
- Partner with Engineering leadership to plan, coordinate, and execute cross-functional technical programs.
- Translate complex business problems into structured technical roadmaps and execution plans.
- Own program plans, milestones, timelines, dependencies, and risk management across multiple engineering teams.
- Drive alignment across Engineering, Product, and Business stakeholders without formal authority.
- Build scalable program management frameworks, dashboards, and governance mechanisms.
- Track program health, execution metrics, and delivery outcomes.
What We're Looking For
Education
- B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related engineering discipline.
- MBA from a premier institute (IIM, ISB, or equivalent Tier-1 business school).
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on Software Engineering experience prior to pursuing an MBA.
- Software engineering experience must be in Backend Development or Full-Stack Development within a product or technology organization.
- Experience should include designing, developing, and delivering production-quality software using modern programming languages and frameworks.
- Post-MBA, candidates should either:
- be currently working in an Associate Program Manager, Technical Program Manager, Program Manager, or similar cross-functional execution role, OR
- be a recent MBA graduate looking to build a career in Technical Program Management.
Skills
- Strong analytical and structured problem-solving ability with comfort working in ambiguous environments.
- Demonstrated ownership of complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.
- Good understanding of software engineering concepts including APIs, distributed systems, cloud platforms, SDLC, and Agile development.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to influence without formal authority and drive execution across engineering teams.
