- Role Accountabilities.
- Surveying: Undertake site surveys to determine the outputs required for the installation of electrical vehicle charging, in line with regulations and ACOP.
- Design: Undertaking electrical design throughout all stages of the design lifecycle for all areas of Electric Vehicle charging including working with other renewable technologies (solar and battery power).
- This includes evaluating a range of data and survey outputs for customer design proposals, parameters and manuals to identify design and application feasibility.
- Installation Assurance: Ability to visit live sites to ensure all installations meeting the required standards and quality metrics.
- Subject matter expert: Support wider team with attending client meetings (for pursuits and during delivery).
- Adherence to industry standards: Ensuring all designs are formulated in line with industry standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Work in collaboration with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design.
Qualifications & Experience.
- Demonstrable experience as Electrical Design Engineer.
- BSc/BEng or MSc/MEng or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a relevant discipline.
- Working towards or achieved Chartered or Incorporate Engineer professional status, or equivalent.
- 20+ years experience in the design of EV charging stations is preferable.
- Be knowledgeable and at the forefront of understanding design standards in relation to Electric Vehicle Charging.
- Experience working with DNO's and understanding the connection requirements in relation to distribution and grid code is essential.
- In depth knowledge of current UK wiring regulations, British Standards, ENA Standards and International Standards where relevant to electrical installations.
- Ability to work autonomously to achieve deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well with a multi-discipline team.
- Pro-active attitude to overcome project and delivery related challenges.
