Job Description

Role Overview

  • Work independently and as part of a team to provide creative structural engineering solutions.
  • Produce calculations, models, reports, and presentations to high standards, on time and within budget.
  • Share work for senior review and perform quality assurance checks on others work.
  • Present designs in internal workshops and lead external meetings with clients/consultants.
  • Lead project teams, make timely decisions, and create a collaborative atmosphere to deliver excellence.
  • Collaborate with external clients and internal discipline designers to ensure integrated solutions.
  • Communicate design decisions clearly to achieve company and client objectives.
  • Prepare fee proposals, bids, and competition designs alongside senior colleagues.
  • Coordinate work with project team members and contribute to internal technical development strategies.
  • Mentor and guide graduates and less experienced engineers, supporting their professional growth.
  • Actively engage in professional networking internally and externally.

Skills & Experience

  • 12+ years of experience as a lead structural engineer on major projects.
  • Strong experience in building structures design (residential and commercial projects).
  • Broad knowledge of structural design using British, US, and European codes of practice.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software such as CSC Fastrak, TEDDS, ROBOT, ETABS, SAFE (or similar).
  • Ability to learn new structural analysis tools quickly.
  • Chartered Member of ICE or IStructE (Engineering Council UK) or equivalent.
  • Master's degree (MTech/MSc) in a structural engineering discipline.
