Job Title: Associate Software Test Engineer (L1)

Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Associate Software Test Engineer (L1) to join our team on a contractual basis. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in software testing, with a strong understanding of testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
Responsibilities:
- Requirement gathering and analysis with identification of ambiguities and gaps in requirement
- Prepare test plan, generate test scenario, test data and test case associated with functional flow
- Participate in walkthroughs of testing procedures, test review meetings, application demo calls and provide feedback for process improvement
- Carry out testing as per the defined procedures within planned release schedule
- Perform functional testing, smoke testing, integration testing, cross-browser compatibility testing, user acceptance testing, regression testing, API testing in the assigned environment(s) and document test results.
- Report and track quality defects using tools such as JIRA, Linear, or similar
- Collaborate with developers and business teams to ensure timely resolution of queries and defects
- Must be agile in testing approach and ready to take up new challenges
- Demonstrate approach towards technical expertise based on requirement of the project
- Ready to adjust work shift as per the project requirements
Skills Required (Primary)
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering or a related field
- ISTQB foundation level certification is a must
- Good understanding of software testing life cycle, defect life cycle and agile methodology
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work with the team of business analysts and software developers to find solutions
- Responsible for test estimation, test planning, test documentation and test status reporting
- Strong knowledge about Security testing, API testing and related tools
- Experience with test management tools (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr) is preferred.
- Ensures test execution results are accurate, thorough and appropriately documented
- Must have knowledge about database testing and usage of SQL queries
Skills Required (Secondary):
- Able to express work fluently and convince stakeholders
- Familiarity with web automation tools/frameworks
- Knowledge about performance testing using the JMeter tool
