Job Description

Job Title: Underwriter

Work Location: Gurgaon

Employment Type:Full-Time

Compensation: 3 LPA – 4.5 LPA + Performance Incentives

Role Overview

The Underwriter will be responsible for evaluating insurance applications, assessing risk profiles, reviewing policy-related documentation, and ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience in KYC and AML compliance processes.

The candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders, insurance advisors, and operations teams to support efficient and accurate underwriting decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and evaluate insurance applications in line with company underwriting policies
  • Analyze customer profiles and risk factors to determine policy eligibility and terms
  • Review insurance contracts, supporting documents, and declarations for accuracy and completeness
  • Ensure adherence to KYC and AML compliance standards
  • Coordinate with sales teams, agents, and internal departments for application processing and clarification requirements
  • Maintain accuracy and consistency in underwriting decisions and documentation
  • Identify discrepancies, potential fraud risks, or incomplete information during application review
  • Support process improvement initiatives to enhance underwriting efficiency and customer experience

Eligibility Criteria

Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Insurance, or a related field

Experience

  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in insurance underwriting
  • Prior exposure to KYC and AML compliance processes is mandatory

Language Requirement

  • Proficiency in Kannada and Hindi is mandatory

Preferred Candidate Profile

  • Experience in insurance operations or policy servicing
  • Ability to manage multiple cases with high accuracy
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements within the insurance sector
