Scope and Responsibilities:

  • The Risk & Reporting department is responsible for delivering best-in-class, technology-enabled analyses and reporting to Oaktree's current and prospective investors, and portfolio management professionals globally.
  • The Associate will serve as a subject matter expert on the instruments and markets Oaktree participates in with an emphasis on liquid credit (Investment Grade, High Yield, Bank Debt, Convertibles, and Structured Credit). The incumbent will support portfolio construction, risk analysis, and quantitative insight.
  • This role requires deep subject matter expertise in leveraged credit markets and a strong understanding of fixed income investment analytics, reporting, and data architecture. The successful candidate will help lead cross-functional efforts across investment, data, and technology teams, and will advocate for the value of quantitative investment strategies throughout the organization.

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and interpreting fixed income attribution, portfolio construction, and risk models & analysis to support portfolio construction and performance analysis.
  • Serving as the go-to resource for portfolio managers on risk, construction, and analytical questions; helping ensure seamless coordination across portfolio operations, data flows, and investment implementation processes.
  • Translating complex quantitative models into clear insights for investment teams and senior leadership.
  • Leading the build-out and maintenance of reporting infrastructure using SQL, Python, Power BI, and cloud-based tools.
  • Collaborating with Business Analysts and IT to improve data systems, pipelines, and automation capabilities.
  • Supporting firmwide understanding of RR&A deliverables, data environments, and third-party data sources (e.g., FactSet, Bloomberg); and
  • Ensuring analytical output is accurate, consistent, and aligned with Oaktree's investment philosophy.

Partnership & Innovation

  • Collaborate with organizational partners to produce and advance R&P deliverables: Investment/Portfolio Management, Product Specialists, Investor Relations, Marketing and business development, Accounting, IT, and Compliance;
  • Evolve strategy and portfolio reporting suite in response to new strategies, and investor needs; Support strategy-level tactical projects through collaboration with other team members and key stakeholders.

Experience Required

  • 5+ years of experience at an asset manager, investment bank, or other financial institution focused on fixed income or credit analytics.
  • In-depth understanding of investment grade, high yield bonds, leveraged loans, and the broader leveraged credit market.
  • Experience with fixed income attribution and portfolio risk models; familiarity with tools like FactSet, Bloomberg, and proprietary analytics platforms.
  • Strong technical proficiency, including advanced SQL and Python, and experience building reports in Power BI.
  • Understanding of cloud data architectures and large-scale data workflows.
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects and communicating with stakeholders across investment and technology teams;

Oaktree's Risk & Reporting team seeks a regulatory reporting professional to drive and support the ongoing global regulatory reporting requirements for Oaktree and its clients - Solvency II, Form PF, AIFMD, Form CPO PQR etc

Responsibilities Include:

  • Aggregating and analyzing portfolio data to respond to recurring and ad hoc regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Driving efficiency and scale of team deliverables through process optimization and technology to manage and manipulate large data sets and create standardized reports or dashboards; and
  • Acting as a citizen developer to drive technology-enabled reporting solutions that support investors, investment teams, and business development.

Experience Required

  • 4-6 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong command of US and European regulatory requirements and an ability to apply that knowledge to Oaktree, responding to quantitative regulatory requirements.
  • Deep experience with US/European filings (Form-PF, Solvency II, AIFMD, etc..)
  • Track record of establishing controls frameworks and internal processes to ensure the timely and accurate production of required regulatory reports
  • Experience working with 3rd party regulatory reporting systems (Omnia, Confluence, etc..) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of financial analytics (yields, spreads, durations, etc.)
  • Skilled in SQL and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI); Python and Azure experience are advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability. Must be a self-starter and detail oriented.
  • Proficiency in Bloomberg is a plus
  • Previous work experience producing regulatory filings at an investment management firm is a requirement

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Accounting, Finance or Economics. MBA, MFE, CPA, CFA and/or CIPM is a plus
