About The Role
The Associate – Retail Planner will play a key role in driving category performance through effective merchandise planning, inventory optimization, and store-level assortment strategies. The role involves analyzing sales trends, forecasting demand, managing allocations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the right products are available at the right stores and at the right time.
This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment while responding quickly to changing consumer trends and business requirements.
Key Responsibilities/What You Will Do
- Drive category and assortment planning based on sales trends, seasonality, and business goals.
- Manage store-level and size-wise inventory allocation to ensure optimum stock availability.
- Analyze sales, demand patterns, and inventory performance to support planning decisions.
- Monitor inventory levels and work towards minimizing stock-outs and excess inventory.
- Support promotions, product launches, and seasonal planning activities.
- Collaborate with Buying, Merchandising, SCM, and Retail teams for smooth execution and replenishment.
- Prepare planning reports, trackers, and MIS dashboards using Excel and reporting tools.
- Track key retail KPIs such as sell-through, stock cover, and inventory turns.
Qualifications & Skills/What You Need
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Management, Retail, Business, PGDM/MBA, or a related field.
- 1- 4 years of experience in retail merchandising, planning, allocation, or inventory management.
- Strong understanding of fashion and lifestyle retail dynamics.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and basic forecasting techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
- Good communication and coordination skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Ability to react quickly and effectively to changing trends and business requirements.
- Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Familiarity with retail planning tools and ERP systems will be an added advantage.
