Job Description
Job Title: Executive, Technology Strategy & Operational Efficiency
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical, politically savvy, and detail-oriented Technology Strategy Associate to join our Strategy and Performance team. In this role, you will act as a strategic advisor and execution engine, working directly with senior leadership to shape the future of our technology ecosystem.
Your primary mandate will be dual-focused: navigating complex stakeholder environments to align business goals with tech capabilities, and driving rigorous operational efficiency. A core immediate responsibility will be establishing a comprehensive Cost to Business model for technology, creating total transparency around our tech spend, and identifying concrete levers to optimize operational performance over the next two/three years.
Key Responsibilities
Financial & Operational Architecture: Design, implement, and manage a robust Cost to Business framework for our technology infrastructure. Demystify IT spend by mapping technology costs directly to functions, business lines, products (Life & Health), and operational processes.
Efficiency & Cost Optimization: Identify, baseline, and execute strategic cost-reduction initiatives. Analyze application portfolios, vendor contracts, and resource allocation to make technology highly efficient without sacrificing service delivery.
Stakeholder Management & Advisory: Act as a trusted partner to C-suite and senior leadership. Synthesize complex technical and financial data into clear, high-impact narratives that drive strategic decision-making.
Governance & Consensus Building: Navigate a complex organizational and political environment. Build strong relationships across business units, act as a bridge between Finance, Operations, and IT, and skillfully manage competing priorities to find common ground.
Strategic Planning: Support the formulation of the multi-year technology strategy, ensuring all initiatives directly tie back to capital efficiency, return on investment, and business growth.
Required Experience & Qualifications
Consulting Background: Minimum of 6 years of experience within a top-tier management consulting, technology consulting, or internal corporate strategy firm. Proven track record of structuring ambiguous problems and delivering data-driven solutions.
Political Acumen & Leadership Navigation: Exceptional emotional intelligence (EQ) with a demonstrated ability to navigate institutional politics, read organizational dynamics, and influence senior stakeholders without direct authority.
Extreme Attention to Detail: A flawless eye for detail. You are someone who thrives on diving deep into complex spreadsheets, financial models, and operational workflows to ensure absolute data integrity.
Financial & Tech Literacy: Strong understanding of corporate finance concepts (e.g., cost allocation, ROI, capital efficiency). Experience with IT financial management or cost-to-business methodologies is highly advantageous.
Industry Knowledge: Prior experience in or deep familiarity with the financial services sectorspecifically Life and Health Insurance operations is strongly preferred.
Key Competencies for Success
The Ideal Profile: You are someone who can present a high-level strategic roadmap to the Executive Committee in the morning and spend the afternoon meticulously auditing a complex cost-allocation model without losing a step. You see institutional politics not as a barrier, but as a chessboard to be navigated gracefully to achieve execution success.
