Position Summary:
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at [University Name] invites applications for a full-time Associate Professor position with expertise in Civil and/or Construction Engineering. Key Responsibilities:
Teaching and Academic Duties
- Deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in civil/construction engineering.
- Develop and revise curriculum in line with industry trends and accreditation requirements.
- Supervise undergraduate projects, graduate theses, and doctoral dissertations.
- Foster a dynamic, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment.
Research and Scholarship
- Conduct high-impact, externally funded research in a core area of civil/construction engineering.
- Publish regularly in top-tier peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences.
- Collaborate with industry, government, and academic partners on research and innovation.
- Mentor early-career faculty and contribute to research leadership in the department.
Service and Leadership
- Contribute to departmental, college, and university committees.
- Provide academic advising and mentorship to students.
- Support accreditation efforts (e.g., ABET) and program development.
- Engage in outreach, community service, or industry partnerships.
Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Strong teaching experience at the university level.
- Established record of research, publication, and successful grant acquisition.
- Demonstrated leadership in academic or professional settings.
- BE/Btech/ME/Mtech (P.E.) license or ability to obtain it within a reasonable timeframe (preferred, especially for construction positions).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Expertise in emerging areas (e.g., smart infrastructure, resilience, digital construction, sustainable materials).
- Experience with interdisciplinary research and teaching.
- Industry experience in civil or construction engineering.
