Role Description The Associate Professor of Public Administration is a full-time, on-site role based at Amity University in Patna. The individual in this position will design and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Public Administration, ensuring alignment with the university's academic standards and learning outcomes. Day-to-day responsibilities include lecturing, facilitating seminars, supervising student projects and dissertations, mentoring learners, and providing academic advising. The role also involves conducting and publishing research, seeking research funding where appropriate, and contributing to curriculum development and program review. The Associate Professor will participate in departmental and university committees, collaborate with colleagues on academic initiatives, engage in community and industry outreach, and support the overall mission of excellence in teaching, research, and service.
Qualifications
  • Advanced academic preparation in Public Administration or a closely related field (PhD preferred; minimum of a relevant master's degree required).
  • Demonstrated expertise in areas such as public policy analysis, governance, public sector management, and administrative theory.
  • Proven university-level teaching experience, including course design, classroom instruction, and student assessment.
  • Strong research record with peer-reviewed publications, ongoing research projects, and the ability to attract research funding.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and academic writing skills, with the ability to engage diverse learners.
  • Experience supervising dissertations or theses and mentoring students in academic and professional development.
  • Commitment to ethical practice, inclusivity, and student-centered teaching, aligned with the university's values.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, contribute to departmental administration, and participate in institutional initiatives.
  • Familiarity with modern teaching methods, educational technology, and outcome-based education frameworks.
  • Prior industry, government, or consulting experience in public administration or public policy is an added advantage.
