Job Description:

The Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry will play a critical role in fulfilling the college's mission. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate level chemistry courses, developing and leading research projects, and contributing to the department's and the college's commitment to innovation and excellence in education.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate level chemistry courses
  • Develop and lead research projects in the field of chemistry
  • Mentor students and encourage their participation in research and academic pursuits
  • Engage in scholarly and professional activities to remain current in the field
  • Collaborate with other faculty members and departments to promote interdisciplinary programs and initiatives
  • Contribute to departmental and college-wide committees and initiatives
  • Publish research findings in academic journals and present at conferences

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in chemistry or a related field
  • Strong teaching and research record
  • Experience in securing external funding and publishing research findings in peer-reviewed journals
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong communication skills
