About the Role: We are looking for a passionate and experienced PhD Instructor / Associate Professor – Computer Networks to join our Computer Science Department at NST, Sonipat.
This role is ideal for educators and researchers who combine strong academic foundations with practical systems and networking expertise. The selected candidate will play a key role in delivering high-impact teaching, curriculum innovation, lab development, student mentorship, and research initiatives in the domains of Computer Networks, Network Security, Distributed Systems, and Systems Engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver application-oriented courses in Computer Networks, Network Security, Distributed Systems, Operating Systems, and Cloud Fundamentals.
- Conduct lectures, labs, workshops, and project-based learning sessions using modern teaching methodologies.
- Bridge theoretical networking concepts with practical industry applications and real-world systems.
- Design and improve curriculum, assignments, labs, and assessments aligned with industry standards.
- Introduce hands-on learning using Cisco Packet Tracer, Wireshark, Linux Networking Tools, Cloud Platforms, and Network Monitoring Tools.
- Develop industry-oriented capstone projects, case studies, and practical networking labs.
- Conduct research and contribute to publications, conferences, workshops, and academic collaborations.
- Mentor students in research projects, hackathons, internships, placements, and innovation initiatives.
- Guide students in system design, troubleshooting methodologies, and engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with faculty and academic leadership to support curriculum innovation, accreditation, and academic growth initiatives.
Required Qualifications & Skills :
- Ph.D. in Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Networks, Systems Engineering, Cyber Security, or related disciplines.
- Strong academic background with consistent academic performance.
- 5+ years of combined experience in Teaching, Academia, Technical Training, or industry exposure in Networking, Systems, or Infrastructure Engineering.
- Strong understanding of OSI & TCP/IP Models, Routing & Switching, TCP/UDP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Network Security Protocols, Firewalls, VPNs, SSL/TLS, SDN, Cloud Networking, Distributed Systems, and Linux/Unix Systems.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco/Juniper networking concepts, packet analysis & troubleshooting, shell scripting, Wireshark, network monitoring tools, and network simulation environments.
- Strong communication, mentoring, and classroom management abilities with experience in outcome-based education and edtech learning models.
- Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, RHCE, AWS, or Azure Networking will be an added advantage.
- Exposure to backend systems, cloud infrastructure, or distributed systems engineering is preferred.
