Associate Product Manager

About The Role

We are looking for an Associate Product Manager to take full ownership of our digital ecosystem. You will help shape and improve the digital products across the mid-day network, including our websites, mobile experiences, and internal editorial tools.

In this role, you will be the primary decision-maker, balancing your time between Product, Engineering, Design, Editorial, SEO, and other teams to define, build, and launch features that improve user experience and support our growing digital audience. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, balancing product thinking with execution, and collaborating across multiple teams.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving user problems, working with data, and seeing ideas through from concept to launch. You must thrive in a fast-paced product environment and have a proven track record of shipping features within an Agile/Sprint framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end execution of product features from discovery through launch.
• Gather business and user requirements, write Product Requirement Documents (PRDs), user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Work closely with Engineering, Design, Editorial, SEO, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality product improvements.
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, testing, and release planning.
• Analyse user behaviour, product performance, and feedback to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Track key product metrics and use data to guide product decisions.
• Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify product opportunities and industry best practices.
• Help prioritize the product roadmap based on business goals, user needs, and technical feasibility.
• Support continuous improvements to both reader-facing products and internal editorial workflows.

Who You Are

• 1–2 years of experience in Product Management or a related role.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
• Comfortable working with Excel/Google Sheets, and product analytics tools.
• Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
• Curious, proactive, and eager to learn about digital publishing and user behaviour.

Nice to Have

• Exposure to content management systems (CMS) or publishing platforms.
• Familiarity with Google Analytics (GA4), Google Search Console, Mixpanel, Amplitude, or similar analytics tools.
• Basic understanding of SEO principles and how product decisions influence organic traffic.
• Experience writing clear product documentation and collaborating with designers and developers.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, Trello, or similar tools.
