Tableau Developer
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Senior Tableau Developer with 58 years of experience in Business Intelligence and Analytics. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Tableau Desktop, Tableau Prep, and advanced SQL. This role involves connecting to multiple data sources, writing optimized custom SQL queries, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into effective data solutions. Experience in the Finance domain is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and advanced visualizations using Tableau Desktop, ensuring alignment with business KPIs and usability best practices.
- Develop, optimize, and maintain data preparation workflows using Tableau Prep to clean, transform, and structure raw data for analytical use.
- Write complex and optimized custom SQL queries (including joins, subqueries, CTEs, window functions, and aggregations) to extract and transform data from various databases.
- Implement and manage Row-Level Security (RLS) within Tableau dashboards and data sources to ensure secure, role-based access to sensitive business data.
- Connect and integrate data from multiple sources such as relational databases, APIs, and flat files.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Finance, Operations, IT, and business stakeholders to gather requirements, define metrics, and translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Monitor and optimize dashboard performance, conduct data validation and reconciliation, troubleshoot production issues, and ensure data accuracy, reliability, and scalability of reporting solutions.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 58 years of hands-on experience in Tableau and Business Intelligence tools.
- Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and performance tuning.
- Experience connecting Tableau to databases, cloud platforms, APIs, and flat files.
- Solid understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and dashboard optimization.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Good to Have
- Strong Finance domain knowledge, particularly in Margin, Collateral Management, Exposure reporting. Understanding of financial products, trading lifecycle, and risk management concepts.
Experience with Tableau Server or Tableau Cloud administration.
Knowledge of ETL tools and data pipeline concepts.
Understanding of data governance and data security best practices.
Tableau Certification (Desktop Specialist/Certified Data Analyst) is a plus
