Role Overview
The Associate Partner will lead a high-performing team of 7-9 lawyers and play a pivotal role in driving the firm's Corporate, M&A, Private Equity, Venture Capital, and Investment practice. The role combines client leadership, transaction execution, mentoring, and business development, with a clear pathway to equity partnership based on performance.
Key Responsibilities
Practice & Transaction Leadership
- Lead and manage complex domestic and cross-border transactions, including:
- M&A (public and private)
- Private equity and venture capital investments
- Strategic investments, exits, and restructurings
- Joint ventures and shareholder arrangements
- Act as transaction quarterback, overseeing structuring, negotiations, documentation, and closing with a close control on quality, client interest and firm's interest.
- Execution of projects at high speed and efficiency
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong expertise in M&A, PEVC, investments, and corporate advisory
- Proven experience leading end-to-end transactions
- Demonstrated ability to lead and scale teams
- Commercial mindset with strong negotiation skills
- Excellent drafting, structuring, and problem-solving abilities
- Client-first approach with business acumen
- High ethical standards and professional integrity
Qualifications
- LL.B. from a reputed law school in India or overseas
- Enrollment with the Bar Council of India (or relevant jurisdiction)
- 79+ years PQE with a top-tier or well-regarded law firm
Prior experience managing teams and client relationships is essential
