Associate

The Middle Office Operations team is responsible for ensuring accurate trade capture, reconciliation, and break management across Rates and Credit trading activities. This role requires strong product and trade lifecycle knowledge within a hedge fund or investment management environment. The position also includes leadership responsibility for a small team, ensuring operational excellence, robust controls, and timely delivery.

Perform and oversee daily trade and position reconciliations for asset classes products.

Identify, investigate, and resolve trade and cash breaks within defined timelines, escalating material issues as required.

Ensure strict adherence to internal controls, operational procedures, and governance standards.

Partner with global operations teams to ensure consistency in processes, reporting, and controls.

Collaborate closely with the onshore team to execute the team roadmap, including long-term strategy, governance, and control enhancements

Stakeholder Engagement

• Work closely with global Operations, Risk, and Technology teams to ensure data accuracy and timely reporting.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for Middle office operations in India.
• Provide clear communication to senior management on operational status, risks, issues, and improvement initiatives.

Required Experience & Skills

Essential

• 48 years of experience in middle office or operations roles within financial markets.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of asset classes products, including platforms such as Markitwire and/or Icelink/TradeServ.
• In-depth understanding of the trade lifecycle, reconciliations, and break management.
• Experience working within hedge fund operating models, including interaction with Prime Brokers and Clearing Brokers.
• Proven experience leading or supervising small teams.
• Strong control mindset with exceptional attention to detail.

Desirable

• Experience with trade capture and reconciliation systems such as Gresham or Murex.
• Exposure to process automation, workflow tools, or data analytics.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Prior experience within a hedge fund or asset management firm.
