Job Summary
The Business Development Manager – Insurance (Associate Manager) will be responsible for driving insurance product distribution through the firm's stock broking ecosystem. The role focuses on partner/channel development, revenue growth, client acquisition, and cross‑selling of insurance products (Life, General & Health) to retail and HNI clients using the existing broking franchise and relationship managers.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Revenue Generation
- Drive insurance sales through equity broking branches, relationship managers, sub‑brokers, and authorized persons.
- Develop new business opportunities by cross‑selling insurance products to existing broking clients.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual insurance revenue targets.
- Promote Life, Health, and General Insurance products aligned with client investment and protection needs.
Channel & Partner Management
- Onboard, train, and manage broking partners, RMs, dealers, and franchisees on insurance offerings.
- Conduct regular training sessions, product workshops, and sales campaigns.
- Build strong relationships with insurance company partners and internal stakeholders.
Client Engagement & Advisory Support
- Support relationship managers in closing high‑value insurance cases.
- Provide pre‑sales and post‑sales support including product comparison, proposal processing, and renewals.
- Ensure smooth coordination between clients, insurers, and internal operations teams.
Process, Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure adherence to IRDAI guidelines, internal compliance, and regulatory standards.
- Maintain accurate MIS, sales reports, pipeline tracking, and conversion metrics.
- Monitor persistency, renewals, and customer service quality.
Market Intelligence & Strategy
- Analyze market trends, competitor offerings, and new insurance products.
- Provide insights and feedback to management on product performance and client preferences.
- Support management in rolling out new initiatives and digital insurance solutions.
Desired Candidate Profile
Education
- Graduate/Postgraduate in Commerce, Finance, Management, or related field
- Additional certifications in Insurance (IRDAI), AMFI, or NISM preferred
Experience
- 4–7 years of experience in insurance sales or business development
- Experience in a Stock Broking Firm, Wealth Management, Banking, or Financial Services preferred
- Proven track record in insurance distribution and channel management
Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of Life, Health, and General Insurance products
- Good knowledge of capital markets and investment products (Equity, MF, PMS preferred)
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Relationship‑oriented with strong problem‑solving abilities
- Target‑driven mindset with analytical and reporting skills
