Responsibilities

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive safety programs tailored to ongoing projects, ensuring strict adherence to industry standards and Adani's safety policies.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential safety issues during all phases of project execution, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Lead safety audits, inspections, and investigations to ensure compliance with statutory laws, corporate safety standards, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and vendors to embed safety awareness and culture, ensuring everyone on-site adheres to established safety protocols. - Facilitate regular safety training sessions, toolbox talks, and emergency preparedness drills to enhance safety competencies and awareness among all employees and subcontractors.
  • Manage incident reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions to prevent recurrence, ensuring transparent communication across all stakeholders.
  • Implement and maintain safety documentation, records, and reports as per regulatory and organizational requirements.
  • Champion continuous improvement in safety practices by analyzing safety performance data and benchmarking against industry standards.
  • Support the integration of new safety technologies and innovations that improve project safety and operational efficiency.
  • Engage with regulatory bodies and ensure all required permits, licenses, and certifications are current and compliant. - Drive behavior-based safety initiatives and employee engagement programs to reinforce Adani's values of Care and Excellence in everyday work.
  • Participate in project planning meetings to assess safety implications and influence design and operational decisions.
  • Mentor and guide junior safety team members, fostering a learning environment aligned with Adani's commitment to growth and development.
  • Ensure environmental, health, and safety (EHS) compliance in alignment with sustainable practices promoted by Adani Group.
  • Promote inclusivity and diversity in safety teams and initiatives, reflecting the organizational culture and ethical standards

Behavioural Skills- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to manage multidisciplinary teams. - Excellent communication and negotiation abilities to influence and engage stakeholders. - Proactive problem-solving approach and decision-making capabilities. - High integrity and commitment to ethical safety practices. - Ability to work effectively under pressure and in challenging project environments. - Demonstrated adaptability and openness to continuous learning. Technical Skills - Proficiency in safety management systems (SMS) and tools such as HAZOP, LOTO, JSA/JHA. - Sound knowledge of local, national, and international safety regulations applicable to power and energy projects. - Expertise in conducting safety audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments. - Familiarity with industrial safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) standards. - Experience in using safety data analysis software and reporting tools. - Knowledge of emergency response planning and fire safety standards. - Understanding of environmental management systems and sustainable safety practices.

Non-Negotiable Skills- Expertise in risk assessment and hazard identification specific to Power/Energy projects.

  • - Proven capability to lead and drive safety culture in complex project environments

Qualifications

Education Qualification- Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Environmental Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related discipline. - Master's degree or higher education in Safety Management or Industrial Hygiene is an added advantage. Experience8-10 years of progressive experience in Safety Management within the Power/Energy industry, preferably with hands-on experience in project-based environments.
