In this role, you'll lead a team of 10-15 Business Coordinators/Help Desk and System Liason roles who provide technical and operational support across retirement recordkeeping and customer solutions. In this role, you'll lead a team of 10-15 Business Coordinators/Help Desk and System Liason roles who provide technical and operational support across retirement recordkeeping and customer solutions. You'll be responsible for:
- Lead and manage a cross-functional team of Business Coordinators, Help Desk specialists, and System Liaisons delivering operational, technical, and client service support across retirement operations. Support cross-functional projects, defect remediation efforts, and workflow/process improvements.
- Help to facilitate partnerships with IT and product areas to refine systems, conduct testing, and implement enhancements that reduce errors and elevate user experience.
- Coach and develop team members to take ownership, innovate, and make impactful decisions and maintain Business SLA
- Help your team navigating complex system, participant, and compliance issues ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Set and achieve goals in alignment with business unit priorities, track trends and use data to improve team performance
QUALIFICATIONS
- 6+ years in retirement services or financial operations accounting or finance experience or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, or education.
- 2+ years leadership experience.
- Proven ability to lead a team through changing business needs or regulatory updates
- Solid understanding of retirement plan rules and regulations (e.g., IRS, DOL, ERISA)
- Manages daily operational execution with accountability for meeting quality, productivity, and compliance targets
- Leads process improvement efforts and supports business strategy through operational execution
- Skilled at collaborating cross-functionally to ensure aligned execution
- Influences and develops team members to deliver results
- Industry Expertise: 6–10 years in retirement or financial services with strong knowledge of 401(k), Defined Benefit plans, Annuities, and banking products.
- Operational Leadership: Experience leading teams responsible for system defect management, customer support, and business transformation initiatives.
- Customer-Centric Mindset: Ability to anticipate service needs, translate feedback into action, and empower teams to exceed customer expectations.
- Influence & Communication: Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and navigate ambiguity with clarity and confidence.
- People Development: Proven experience in coaching, performance management, and fostering a positive, growth-oriented team culture.
- Commitment to continuous learning with a focus on industry-recognized certifications such as ASPPA (American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries) and LOMA (Life Office Management Association).
- Strong orientation toward digital and systems proficiency, including adapting to evolving retirement technology platforms.
- Ability to leverage data, automation, and analytics to drive operational efficiency and informed decision-making.
