Working in close collaboration with global automakers and suppliers throughout the entire product lifecycle—from initial concept and design through development and manufacturing—Visteon delivers solutions that are adaptable across all powertrain platforms. Role: The Proto Manager plays a pivotal role in managing prototype sample development and delivery, ensuring timely delivery to cross-functional teams and customer.

Qualification: B.E with Mechanical Engineering/ EE/ECE Mechatronics/Production Engineering is preferred, will be 10+ years of experience in manufacturing is preferred.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage internal and customer prototype deliveries
  • Manage work schedules and job allocation for resources
  • Liaise with plant team / EMS suppliers for build requirements and delivery timelines.
  • EBOM and MBOM for component-level analysis / understanding.
  • EQ/TQ evaluations and approvals.
  • Manage bare PWB procurement and ensure gerber file accuracy.
  • Manage supplier development for mechanical and electronic components.
  • Identify and mitigate risks for the sample build activities
  • Oversee end-item assembly aligned with DFM principles.
  • Understanding of SMT process and knowledge on fixture design and development.
  • Prepare and manage PDIRs, SRD, and HSIS documentation.
  • Lead TISAX and IATF16949 audits and ensure process compliance.
  • Manage shipping and logistics documentation.
  • Proto team personnel management and appraisals.
  • Perform board-level debugging using schematics.
  • Utilize tools like CAN, CAPL scripting, and basic automation.
  • Handle lab equipment: RPS, Oscilloscope, DMM, Frequency Generator, etc.
