Job Description

Job Purpose

  • Drive and oversee Performance Monitoring – OSE functions effectively.
  • Manage Energy performance at the plant to ensure continual improvement and sustainable operations.
  • Implement a systematic approach to efficiency, reliability, and safety enhancements.

Organisation Chart

  • Reports to Manager – OSE.

Key Accountabilities & Performance Indicators

Performance Efficiency

  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions.
  • Enhance plant efficiency, reliability, and operational safety.
  • Monitor and analyze system performance trends.
  • Calculate unit heat rate and implement actions to reduce it.
  • Prepare reports on start-up delays, constraints, and daily performance.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Unit heat rate improvements
  • Audit findings
  • PAT compliance

Energy Management (EnMS PAT)

  • Execute Energy Management System (EnMS) activities per site guidelines.
  • Analyze energy consumption and recommend cost-saving improvements.

KPIs:

  • Planned vs. Actual energy savings achieved

Internal Coordination

  • Collaborate with OM functions and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely communication on plant performance and reporting.

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce safe work practices and monitor PPE usage.
  • Promote proactive safety culture with regular briefings and good housekeeping.

KPIs:

  • Zero Lost Time Incidents (LTIs)
  • Stakeholder feedback & safety compliance reports

External Interactions

  • Clients, as per project requirements.
  • Equipment suppliers, ensuring system fidelity.
  • Energy Auditors, coordinating assessments.

Internal Interactions

  • Regular coordination with departmental heads, sectional heads, and team members.
  • Engage with control room engineers, maintenance, EHS, security, finance, and commercial teams.

Financial Dimensions

  • Selection of cost-effective chemicals to minimize consumables and raw material expenses.
  • Monitor and control coal quality loss.
  • Optimize water treatment costs per approved AOP.
  • Adopt new technologies to enhance treatment efficiency.

Other Dimensions

  • Supervision of efficiency optimization efforts in plant operations.

Education Qualifications

  • B.Tech / M.Tech in relevant discipline.

Relevant Experience

  • 5-7 years of industry experience in Performance Monitoring & Energy Management.
