Job Description

Designation:

• Associate Manager: ESG & Sustainability Cell,

• Employment type: Full time

• Organization: Jindal Stainless limited (JSL),

• Location: Kalinga Nagar, Odisha

Desired qualifications:

• Full Time B.E./B.Tech/Graduation from recognized university. M.E. / M.Tech. /MBA (Sustainability/Environmental

specialization) is highly desired.

• Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in the ESG/ sustainability/climate change domain

preferably in metal/manufacturing industry.

• Working experience in Steel plant is strongly desired.

Desired Skills:

• Excellent working knowledge on frameworks & end to end procedure for Generation of Carbon credits/ Green

credits

• Excellent working knowledge on ESG Assessment & Reporting as per GRI standard

• Excellent working knowledge on UN SDGs & ESG Rating frameworks (CDP, DJSI , EcoVadis etc...).

• Experience in ESG & Sustainability report preparation like Integrated Reporting (IIRC) & BRSR reporting.

• Advanced knowledge of GHG Protocols and accounting standards.

• Knowledge on Corporate Carbon Footprint (CCF) & Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) assessments as per relevant

ISO standards.

• Expertise in GaBI / SimaPro / relevant LCA assessment Software tools.

• Experience on Environment Product Declaration (EPD) assessment & certification.

• Experience in carbon modelling & ESG risk assessment

• Knowledge on UN SDGs & Biodiversity management

• Experience in Corporate Sustainability Project Management.

• Strong Qualitative and quantitative analysis skills with proficiency in statistical tools.

• Strong written and Verbal communication & Presentation skills.

• Demonstrated ability to coordinate among various internal and external stakeholders.

Roles & Responsibilities:

A. REPORTING & COMPLIANCE

• Prepare and submit all mandatory and voluntary sustainability reports including: - SEBI BRSR (with BRSR

Core assurance for top 1000 entities) - GRI Standards-based reporting - CDP (Climate, Water, Forests) -

Integrated Report (IIRC framework) - DJSI, EcoVadis assessments - UN Global Compact Communication on

Progress

• Monitor evolving regulatory requirements (CBAM, TCFD, etc.) and ensure timely compliance

• Suggest and implement reporting improvements (e.g., EITI framework, Responsible Steel certification)

B. CARBON & CLIMATE MANAGEMENT

• Lead Corporate Carbon Footprint (CCF) and Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) assessments per ISO

14064/14067 standards

• Manage GHG inventory (Scope 1, 2, 3) using GHG Protocol accounting standards

• To lead the Carbon/Green Credit generation activity starting with project identification, registration,

verification till obtaining the Credits.

• Develop and track decarbonization roadmaps, including green hydrogen initiatives and renewable energy

integration

• Enhance climate risk modelling and stress testing capabilities

C. LIFE CYCLE ASSESSMENT & PRODUCT STEWARDSHIP

• Conduct Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) assessments and manage certifications

• Perform Life Cycle Assessments using GaBI/SimaPro tools

• Support development of low-carbon stainless steel products and circular economy initiatives

• Ensure 100% recyclability principles are maintained and communicated

D. STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT & KPI MANAGEMENT

• Collaborate with internal departments to develop, review, and track ESG KPIs based on global best

practices

• Ensure material issues, KPIs, and targets are internally aligned and externally shareable

• Implement and communicate sustainability programs to internal and external stakeholders

• Understand customer ESG preferences and integrate into product sales and advisory

• Coordinate with various internal and external stakeholders including investors, rating agencies, and

auditors

E. SUPPLY CHAIN & OPERATIONS

• Manage supply chain ESG risks ensuring alignment with company values and standards

• Integrate ESG considerations into procurement and vendor selection processes

• Oversee effective functioning of IT tools for tracking ESG KPIs and GHG accounting

F. AWARDS & RECOGNITION

• Maintain knowledge of assessment methodologies for sustainability awards applications

• Coordinate preparation and submission of sustainability award application
