Role Overview
We are looking for an Associate Manager – Consumer Insights & Research to lead end-to-end research projects while managing a team and driving high-quality execution across multiple brand mandates. The role requires a strong balance of analytical thinking, stakeholder management, project ownership, and people leadership.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple projects simultaneously, and translating consumer behavior into meaningful business recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
Consumer Insights & Research
- Lead and manage end-to-end qualitative and quantitative research projects.
- Design research frameworks, questionnaires, discussion guides, and insight reports.
- Analyze consumer behavior, market trends, and category performance to derive actionable insights.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders and brand teams to understand business objectives and research requirements.
- Present insights and recommendations in a structured and impactful manner.
- Ensure timely delivery and high quality of research outputs.
Team Management
- Manage, mentor, and guide a team of researchers, analysts, and interns.
- Allocate projects and ensure smooth coordination within the team.
- Monitor team productivity, timelines, and deliverables.
- Support team members in problem-solving, stakeholder communication, and execution excellence.
- Drive a collaborative, high-performance, and learning-oriented team culture.
Stakeholder & Client Management
- Act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
- Build strong relationships with brand partners and ensure client satisfaction.
- Handle project discussions, expectation management, and feedback loops effectively.
Process & Strategy
- Identify opportunities to improve research methodologies and operational efficiency.
- Contribute to scaling processes, reporting formats, and insight frameworks within Smytten Pulse.
- Stay updated on industry trends, consumer behavior shifts, and emerging research practices.
Requirements
- 4 – 6 years of experience in Consumer Insights, Market Research, Brand Research, or related fields.
- Experience in managing teams and leading projects independently.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and research/reporting tools.
- Ability to work under tight timelines in a dynamic environment.
- Prior experience in FMCG, D2C, beauty, personal care, lifestyle, or research agencies is preferred.
