Job Title: Associate – Vehicle Systems Packaging Engineer
Job Description
This role focuses on packaging investigations and integration of vehicle systems such as the engine compartment and steering system to ensure dimensional accuracy, functional performance, quality, legal compliance, and manufacturability. The associate works closely with package engineers and the vehicle integration team to evaluate building space, manage clearances between parts, and support the smooth execution of design projects. The position requires strong analytical and communication skills, meticulous documentation, and proactive issue management to meet project objectives and timelines.
Responsibilities
- Conduct packaging investigations for vehicle systems, including engine compartment and steering systems, to ensure alignment with project objectives for dimensional concepts, function, quality, legal specifications, and production requirements.
- Systematically evaluate available building space and verify that required clearances between parts are met to avoid interference and ensure proper integration.
- Perform package checks and support package release activities in close collaboration with package engineers.
- Assist package engineers in the smooth execution of their daily tasks within the Vehicle Integration department.
- Provide timely and clear communication to the reporting manager regarding issues, risks, and development progress.
- Execute design projects using sound engineering principles while adhering to established business standards, practices, and project requirements.
- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation of technical data in accordance with internal procedures and guidelines.
- Support the team leader in preparing statistics, technical reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Share knowledge, best practices, and lessons learned across team members to promote continuous improvement and consistency.
- Identify, manage, and escalate risks and issues that may impact project deliverables, and contribute to mitigation plans.
Essential Skills
- Experience in overall vehicle design and packaging, with a focus on integration of systems such as engine compartment and steering.
- Hands-on experience with Digital Mock-Up (DMU) processes and tools for packaging and clearance checks.
- Proficiency in UGNX (NX) for 3D design, modeling, and packaging activities.
- Practical understanding of vehicle integration concepts and methodologies.
- Ability to interact and collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Capability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining accountability for deliverables.
- Strong communication and coordination skills, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated analytical skills and an assertive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
- Good proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Ability to create clear and professional presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint.

Work is primarily office-based, involving collaboration with package engineers, team leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders through meetings, reviews, and presentations. The position requires regular use of standard office software, including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, to prepare reports, statistics, and technical presentations. The environment emphasizes adherence to engineering standards, structured documentation practices, and proactive communication to ensure timely and high-quality project delivery.
