About the department

The Global Legal, Intellectual Property, and Security (GLIPS) department at Global Business Services (GBS) in Bangalore is a cornerstone of support for Novo Nordisk's global legal and intellectual property functions. With a focus on efficiency and high-quality delivery, GLIPS GBS operates across three key sub-teams, ensuring operational excellence, risk mitigation, and compliance across global operations. The department fosters a collaborative and dynamic atmosphere, where diverse expertise drives success in the legal and intellectual property domains.

The position

As an Associate Legal Counsel, you will:

  • Support Legal & Compliance Reviews - Assist on the ethics navigatorwith Novo Nordisk corporate requirements.
  • Business Ethics Oversight - Collaborate with lawyers on ethics matters, review third-party documentation, identify risks, and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Drive Compliance Initiatives - Manage and update projects like TEN (The Ethics Navigator) and HIRO, ensuring alignment with local regulatory requirements.
  • Enable Product Launch Compliance - Support the Business Ethics Compliance Programme and related legal activities for new product introductions.
  • Data & Reporting Management - Track and report compliance data using tools like COUPA and Privacy Management systems maintain trackers, reports, presentations, and training materials.

Qualifications:

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters in law
  • 4+ years of working experience in the legal department of global corporations, focusing on contracts, legal and compliance matters, due diligence, and risk assessments.
  • Prior experience in the legal sector with strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical ability to identify risks and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
